This isn't even nearly the same case, but I just have to say how much I ... hate VIPs and special guests. At the Yatterman premiere, all of these film students just stepped lightly into the theater while hundreds of us had been freezing in January weather in NYC. The more that walked in, the more our chances fell. Of course, the VIPs and special guests in Japan will likely be idols and friends of idols, but damn! it sucks.
