Before I get to my big trip update...
Aug. 7th, 2008 07:05 pmGot back this morning and pictures are uploaded but I have to go through and anotate and nerd out with historical facts and stuff (so I can C/P into Facebook later). Took two naps and did a whole lot of nothing. I have no food in the house except pasta, eggs and miso. Oh, lie! I have cereal. I don't have much money though but maybe enough for a carton of milk. Dinner. Done.
Followed a link from
iaoiua's blog and found Arashi's All or Nothing DVD solo's (which I have to find and download or buy). They didn't write they're own stuff (mostly) for this one but just performed other people's stuff.
Aiba - Hitsuji wo Kazoe by Dragon Ash
I think Aiba found a style that suits his voice. More Pikanchi or Day in our Life stuff please! And he really was talented on the sax. Sigh. It's such a shame that he had to quit. I always seem to forget that Nino isn't the only "actual" muscian of the bunch. The lyrics are so fun and simple; the title is "Counting Sheep".
Sho - Konya wa boogie back byUtada Hikaru Ozawa Kenji
Maybe this is where they became friends because surely they have to get permission to perform other artist's stuff if they aren't in JE. The dancing was great, but the voice was only so-so but this was... 4 years ago? The hair is not approved. He looks so little!
Edit: Actually Hikaru just performed this song as well, it wasn't hers. It seems that this is a really popular song so lots of people have performed it, such as Schadaraparr with Utada Hikaru.
Ohno - Bite the Love by Shonentai
I liked it when I first heard it because it was jazzy and big band-ish. It's totally different from anything they've done until Cool and Soul, which remains one of my favourite Arashi songs. The performance here is mindblowing! It's so upbeat compared to many of his other solo's.
Nino - Regress or Progress
This is an original song written by Nino and Domoto Tsuyoshi of Kinki Kids. It's such a simple song and the performance is all about the music. He really shines as a musician; it's reminicent of Niji from the Time concert -- just Nino and an instrument on stage. I had actually hoped he would played the guitar for Gimmick Game because that would have been awesome.
Jun - One More Time, One More Chance by Yamazaki Masayoshi
I definitely like Jun a lot more now than I used to, and I like his voice/look now much more than in the early days. He has come a long, long way. This is a simple performance but I don't really get what's up with the costume. The fangirls are freaking out anyway.
The 20th anniversary of Utaban is tonight and Arashi is a guest! It's on in 20 minutes and I still don't have any food to eat... I napped after uploading most of my videos from my trip. Just the one of tying my obi left, but that one is over 100mb so it's going to take ages. Maybe I'll get it going when Utaban comes on.
