What’s the last thing you wrote?
A very fucked up part of Equilibrium, chapter 7 that had lots of crossouts because I wrote it on paper and not my computer.
Was it any good?
Probably not, but has the seeds for potential.
What’s the first thing you wrote that you still have?
My first piece of fanfiction that I ever tried to write is still up at Fictionalley.org. Oh yes, it was Harry Potter. And not bad for 17, I suppose.
Write poetry?
I used to.
Angsty poetry?
It probably was.
Favourite genre of writing?
I like to write comedy? I know that's what I like to read but I do drama really well.
Most fun character you’ve ever created?
I haven't made any original characters that I have stuck with.
Most annoying character you’ve ever created?
Again, no.
Best plot you’ve ever created?
Equilibrium.
Coolest plot twist you’ve ever created?
The end of Strip Trip. XD
How often do you get writer’s block?
It's not so much writers block as being lazy about writing. I know where I want it to go, it's just a matter of sitting down and fleshing it out.
Write fanfiction?
It's the only thing I write.
Do you type or write by hand?
When I get cabin fever I take my pen and notebook to Starbucks and write but usually I write on my computer.
Do you save everything you write?
I have. The wonders of LJ.
Do you ever go back to an idea after you’ve abandoned it?
I only have one idea that is left unfinished and it's sitting there waiting after I tore it apart but I need to finish Eq first.
What’s your favourite thing you’ve written?
Everything~ I'm most proud of Your Love Song, Maybe If... and Equilibrium though.
What’s everyone else’s favourite story that you’ve written?
I got lots of feedback on YLS and Maybe. Eq is doing well too.
Do you ever show people your work?
REAL people? No. Wait, lies. I send a bunch to my friend Michelle who was in my writing class but haven't heard back from her yet. I should bug her and see what she says.
Did you ever write a novel?
Equilibrium will be one by the time it's done.
Ever written romance or angsty teen drama?
Angsty drama, but not teen. Romance, oh yes. It's epic.
What’s your favourite setting for your characters?
I like my castle setting. Which I should take a trip to one day, because I can!
How many writing projects are you working on right now?
One.
Do you want to write for a living?
I would love to. I want to write a book about living in Japan one day.
Have you ever won an award for your writing?
No.
Ever written anything in script or play format?
In school
What are your five favourite words?
exacerbate (I'm SO nerdy)... I can't think of any more.
Do you ever write based on yourself?
I did sort of, and it didn't go very well. No one likes Mary Jane characters.
What character have you created that is most like yourself?
None.
Where do you get ideas for your characters?
Fandom. Real life situations and experiences.
Do you ever write based on your dreams?
Not yet.
Do you favour happy endings, sad endings or cliff-hangers?
Cliff-hangers for chapters are good in moderation and people seem to think the way I end some of my things are cliff-hangers but they aren't, they just aren't happy endings. That seems to be the general conscensus I think, not happy endings = cliff-hangers. But I like to see (mostly) everyone get what they want.
Have you ever written based on an artwork you’ve seen?
I don't think so. But I would.
Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
Abso-fucking-lutely.
Ever write anything in chatspeak (how r u?)
Never. That is offensive to the reader, unless you are having the characters chatting or texting. It's just plain lazy.
Entirely in L337?
Is that even possible?
Was that question appalling and unwriterly?
Yes.
Does music help you write?
If it's instrumental. I've learned that lyrics get in the way. Maybe that's why it always took so long to write papers in school.
