Generally I prefer dork!Arashi, as that was what set them apart from all the other boy bands of the world for me. You're right - there is one for everyone (and definitely for their mothers) - but I'm a dork, and it was the Odoroki SPs and variety shows that overwhelmed my resistance to anything JE, and thus I fell, like so many others :)
I had just exited from a kpop fandom that lasted for six years (though I always make it a point to say that I was never a DBSK or Suju fangirl - H.O.T. Forever!), and really didn't want to jump onto another bandwagon. But I had just read about half of Kimi wa Petto, needed an ending, and ended up watching the KwP drama with Jun, although I had to try twice because I was so not into Jun at that point. (Sometime around the fifth episode, I grudgingly admitted that the boy had some ridiculous! lips -_-) I had listened to one Arashi song years back around when w-inds. (whom I do love) first debuted, but thought it was horrid. However, YouTube did me in (as it usually does), and I fell in love with the We can make it! PV, variety shows, and here I am - though I'm a very passive fan who contributes absolutely nothing to the fandom community, or even participates. (Most Arashi fangirls scare me a bit, to be honest.) So not to worry! I have naught author skills as well :D
All of the boys are so wonderful, dorky, and full of passion. Their work ethic is simply amazing. I simply love all of that.
