Firstly... stressed out day at work.  I forgot to make cards for the grade 5 lesson I was teaching today so I rushed around trying to print pictures before class in the morning (luckily I left early... but ended up missing the early bus anyway) and in the end I didn't need them: the teachers made them for me.  The lesson went really well.  They were learning self-intros and "I like"/"I don't like".  Well, most of them knew it already so it was easy.  They were supposed to play a game but the coordinating teacher forgot to copy the game sheets so I just made students get up and do short intros in front of the class.  They liked it anyway.

I got to play with the laminator and laminate the cards for tomorrow. :3  I should maybe laminate more of my cards... if I plan to keep doing this next year, it would be handy.  Especially in elementary school.  I don't know how often I'm going to use these hallowe'en pictures I made... maybe I can pass them on to someone later.  Anyway... after about 1:45, I had done all my prep work for tomorrow and they wanted me to decorate the classroom but that didn't even get started until 4:30!  And it took an hour.... it's really sparse and shitty looking and took an hour.  I was making stuff up on the fly: tissue paper ghosts, cut-out ghosts and pumpkins, a kind of curtain on the door.  They had a few streamers but that's all.  And the picture I painted on the board.  All that took an hour becuase they didn't have any materials.  And I was pretty much doing everything by myself.  If that was the case, fuck I could have gotten started as soon as the Himawari class went home and not had to stay an hour overtime.  (Not that I get anything remotely like "overtime"; they'll probably count it to make up for my sick day.)

I'm going to make a CD with some Hallowe'en music to play in the background as well as for Musical Chairs, I had thought.  The impression I'm getting is that it's going to be a complete zoo tomorrow.  The lady helping me (Hirata-san, whose son is in 2-4 at Toyochu!) asked how many cycles we could do with 30 kids per cycle... it's only an hour and half.  And there'll be a line up outside, she said.  That is really starting to scare me. It'll be like doing the same lesson on repeat back-to-back six times.  I'm going to be exhausted!  They even got a costume for me.  I am kind of dreading wearing the pikachu outfit I bought because... I don't know.  Even though they are 5-12 years old, I kind of still care what they think of me.  But if it's as hot and muggy as it was today, there is no chance in hell.  I'll default to my Starfucks get up.

Bah, I'm pooped and it's been raining on and off all day.  I have nothing to cook except eggs so I'm going to make some tamagoyaki.  And eat.  And relax.  And then watch Ryuusei no Kizuna. :3
