This is what accomplishment feels like.

I finished my fic.  I've fic'ed before, but this is the first one I've actually finished.  I guess all my other attempts were premature and nobody gave a shit about reading them.  In any case, it's done.  :D  I posted it at arashirabu and hope to get some more good responses from the people who read the first part.  I had choco_jellyfish beta read it for me and she said it wasn't as comedic as the first part, but its hard to make porn funny without making it funny.  Haha.  I did get a little zing at the end, which ties things up nicely.  The beginning and the end don't shake hands, necessarily, as Claire Wright would want, but I am happy with it.  I'll probably read it again down the road and want to change a bunch of things.  Which isn't bad.  But I wanted it done by the end of the weeked and I managed that.  I also got my laundry done and tidied the house up a bit as well.  I didn't get to the kitchen or bathroom like I should have, and they'll only get worse as the week goes on but oh well.  I definitely won't be doing shit on the weekend so I'll have to make time to do it during the week sometime.  I might need to get some stronger chemicals to tackle the mess caked on to the stovetop.  Ugh.

Another week looms...  It's not that I dislike my job; it's quite the opposite, in fact.  And I'm interested to see what surprises will crop up on my birthday on Tuesday from the students.  Andrew has asked me if I miss being with Nova and if they hadn't gone belly-up, would I be happy to be working for them.  On the one hand, I miss the social aspect of it.  I was friends with all my coworkers and I could actually talk to them inbetween lessons and rant about our students and then go for beers after knocking off.  I did enjoy the flexibility and being able to switch with people to have trips and stuff (or would have).  On the other hand, I like that I have a routine.  I go to sleep and wake up around the same time every day, and I've found that I'm less tired than when I worked at Nova and never got into a routine sleeping pattern.  It's also beyond brainless and unless I suggest something, I don't have to do any planning.  But if I do suggest something, it's my own idea so I enjoy preparing it.  And usually it's something I've done at one point or another, so it's easy to prepare anyway.  Although, I get a short week coming up at the end of the month when students are writing exams so there's no classes.  I wonder if they'll give me anything to do... I'm kind of afraid they won't so I'll have nothing to do but sit at my desk.  Maybe they'll let me off and not make me work?  Four day weekend!

I'm totally in a creative groove at the moment after getting a website off the ground, finishing a fic and making a few icons.  It's been so long!
