Lazy Sunday

I'm in the throes of writing my latest fic.  I was up until 2am last night because I didn't want to stop.  I want to get it finished before dinner.  I went out and got my laundry done and its hanging out in the sun.  I've got the windows open to the warmth of oncoming spring because I don't think it will stay for more than a few days before we get another fucking cold spell.  I'm listening to some sweet house music that I downloaded yesterday.  Japanese DJs Daishi Dance, who were at Yellow on Friday night.  I don't think we actually heard them though.  I am having quite a good day!

1. What's your favorite Japanese food?

Okonomiyaki or tempura.

2. What sound in the urban environment do you like best?

The hum of the city and the wind rustling the Suzuki's tree across the street.

3. What part of your daily routine do you despise most?

Waking up.

4. Who is your favorite celebrity?

Arashi.  Well, they are 5 celebrities but whatever.

5. Do you speak Japanese?

It would be a lie to say "a little" because I can get by in daily life and pick through a conversation.

6. Can you read Japanese?

More than I can speak, thanks to Chinese.

7. When did you first come to Japan?

August 2007

8. Do you like karaoke?

I love it.

10. What are your favorite books by Japanese authors?

Geisha of Gion by Minako Iwate.  

11. What's the best holiday you've had in Japan?

My only holiday has been to Nikko with Yvonne.  A nice short trip chock full of temples and tourism.

12. Have you ever been in the media in Japan?

No.

13. What do you think about Japanese Macaque monkeys?

Are they the onsen monkeys?

14. Do you bow?

Constantly, it seems.

15. What aspect of Japanese culture has made an indellible impression on you?

Aisatsu.  It's everywhere and now I am saying things to people too without even realizing it.
