Jul. 1st, 2008 07:44 pmWork was boring. Made up a game for the 1st years that I hope goes well. Only had Araragi to teach today and I have decide to make some stuff for their classroom. I'll print out the alphabet (maybe colour-in kind? so they can make it pretty themselves) and some phonics stuff. While Hiroki has trouble remembering some things when I say them, Takuya has a really good memory and can choose the right letters when I say them. However, Hiroki is really good a remembering and writing his own name where Takuya can't. And I think the problem is that he doesn't know what sounds the letters make. So he'll remember which letters go into his name T, K, Y, A, U... but not which order. Katuya or Kutaya. So I'm going to print out some cards with pictures (A for apple) and see if that helps.
The Canada Day lunch broadcast went over well. Haha.. everyone (in the staff room at least) seemed impressed with Canada. I couldn't understand most of what they said. It's the 2nd largest country, the first people came from France and England, a world leader in... something. Haha. And then they played Avril and Nickelback. Miyoshi-sensei asked me if I had any request for the last song and I said it didn't matter so they played Shimauta for the last song because I had it on the CD (actually for 3rd year lessons next term). Oh well. Didn't get any writing done... again...
I went shopping after work and got a yukata from Uniqlo, finally. Apparently there was a sale a few weekends ago but I didn't go so I had to pay full price. I really want a green one but Yvo says that's not a popular colour for yukata. Oh well. The one I picked was cream with maroon flowers. It came with a silver obi which I'm not too keen on but I was dumb and didn't think of switching it out with another. Oh well. Now I just have to find some geta. :D I also got a few pairs of shorts. And a new purse. I might have gone a bit crazy with the spending... maybe.
Immigration again tomorrow. I made sure that I have my fucking passport in my purse this time. NO MORE FUCK UPS.
