It's only been 8 minutes of Door to Door and I feel like crying already. I don't know if it's because of the content or just because it's Nino. It's already hard to watch. Haha. I almost feel like I'm cheating him by watching it without subtitles because I won't (already don't) understand everything being said. I'll watch it again later, when it's subbed, since it will probably been another month or something, I bet. I'll need a refresher by then anyway.

I needed a break from Korean Hanadan. I'm on episode 9 now and it's dragging on so slow. Either the Japanese version cut a whole lot from the manga, or the Koreans have gone off on a completely seperate story line. That's what makes me want to read the manga--to see what Kamio Yoko originally wrote and intended.

i'm so excited for the door to door subs, even though it's probably going to be a while. i really liked the william h. macy original version, and i'm hoping nino's version is more of the same. not like nino ever disappoints, though. :)

I loved it and I was really surprised to hear that Japan didn't receive it as well as expected.

I still think it may be the best of the three TBS specials. I'm sad it's the last one his contract covers. =\

Yeah, he was contracted for 3 right? I seem to have missed the whole thing since I was in Korea. They didn't take it so well? I'm halfway through now and I'm enjoying it. And cried buckets already. Maybe they'll pick him up for more later? I hope so.

I want him in a freaking adult rom/com role damnnit. haha. I wonder what he'll do next.

I understood the gist of it in the end. UGH! I'm such a sucker for weepy stories. That's a sign of a good film for me: how much did I cry? Not as hard as I did in marathon but still plenty.

hanadan korean..... I only watched the first epi. But I read the manga..... the Japanese drama storyline seemed spliced together from random things. The Taiwanese one if you've ever seen it follows the plot the most out of the 2. But they also consolidated the minor characters somewhat. The Korean one seemed sorta slow from what I saw tho

Yeah i saw the TW version first and it was alright. The most "realistic" out of all of them, I think. There are some things I suspect are directly from the manga (since they are in both TW and K versions) that didn't make the Japanese cut. If it wasn't freaking 37 volumes... or it didn't take me an hour or more to read 1 I would consider going to a manga cafe and reading them. Maybe I should make that my project before I leave Japan. I just don't want to accumulate that many books that I'll only have to get rid of.

The Japanese version cut off A LOT. Hm, let's just say they did their best to fit in the interesting bits. A lot of the stuff have been changed, some were put together, some were omitted. Typical for a drama adaptation of the manga. It's a long read so if you decide to start, be prepared. And I'm a little bit iffy with Makino in the manga. I like how Inoue Mao portrayed her though. I think drama Makino is tougher and spunkier. :D

I don't want to watch the Korean version because the language will break my brain. Aside from that, I can already feel how much it would drag on and on and on and on. But if I'm bored out of my mind with nothing interesting to do, then maybe I will. I am mean.

I had a feeling... I watched the TW version first and they said some things that weren't in the Japanese one and a lot of things were different. Makes me think the Japanese one changed the most since both Korean and TW talked about how Rui had some kind of autism as a kid. I think the Korean version has developed Rui's character more than the Japanese one. I am thinking back now, and I don't even remember them talking about his parents at all. You get to see Akira's and Sojiro's background more than Rui's. But I think the Korean Domyoji is better. Makino is so weak in the Korean one! I'm getting really annoyed with her. But I'm almost half way through the series (and have nothing to do) so I'll watch it til the end, especially that now it's fully subbed.

Oh yeah, it's like what... 37 volumes. It only just finished last year. @_@ Kamio Yoko must be rich.
