I was talking with
honeycorrupts the other day about who had done more dramas, Nino or Matsujun? So I went and found it. Compiled from J-web, the "official" record of their works. I translated some of the longer titles into English. This is the complete list of dramas and movies up until the end of 2008 as of right now. They might spring something on us later. Edit: Now with stageplays!

Date: 2008-09-14 02:59 am (UTC)And from 1999, Nino has not changed so at least Nino still wins in that.

Date: 2008-09-14 03:33 am (UTC)Anyway, just remove all manga dramas and see how many Jun has left ... hahaha x:

Date: 2008-09-14 03:57 am (UTC)I'm interested in his next choice of drama or movie - move on, Doumyouji. Nino, I feel, has a broader range, which I prefer to Jun's - it's no surprise that Jun-bait exists when he is so typically cast as cool or princely types d:

Date: 2008-09-14 04:04 am (UTC)That's what I told Maiaide, since he is #1 for a lot of the fangirls, he has to get the roles that fit him better. Nino has a better chance of choosing different characters. He went from teenage pervert to a soldier to adorable older brother.
I'll admit I was Jun-baited, but he quickly went down to #5 after I learned about the other guys.

Date: 2008-09-14 04:25 am (UTC)In contrast to his princely characters, Jun comes across as a rather difficult person himself. He's not naturally talented like Ohno or Nino (different talents, but both naturally so), intelligent and affable like Sho, or even baka-love and affable like Aiba. He's Jun, obsessive-compulsive Jun, slightly-anti-social Jun, very-particular-about-everything-in-his-life Jun - if he didn't have his looks or his princely characters, frankly he would probably lose most of his fans (or never have them in the first place). But, I take to heart that the other members always say that he cares so much about Arashi, and how deeply he considers a question and then answers. In a way, it's because he's like me (at least, what I can make of his private person from his public one) that he has a special place in the Arashi corner of my heart. It broke my heart when I came across a concert report from the summer, in which Arashi fans were quiet when asked about watching The Last Princess, but were so excited about HYD Final. I'm not a fan of Jun because of Doumyouji or Sawada Shin - I'm a fan because he is a peculiar and not entirely likable personality, but a thorough and meaningful one.
Anyway, all this is towards the fact that everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I will contend with mine :). (I babble.)

Date: 2008-09-14 04:50 am (UTC)He's been in the entertainment business, since he was what 13? 14? If you're thrown into the spotlight at that young of age, you would grow up with some extreme qualities. Every quality that you mentioned of Jun, I love. It makes him more human than the rest of the guys, he's not a "perfect idol". I'm not saying that I dislike him more than the other guys, nor did my love for him go down, it's just that personality wise it was easier to admire the other guys more. Am I contradicting myself here?
For Jun loving Arashi as much as he does, I think without Arashi he wouldn't be able to do all the things he's done without that support and vice-versa. Isn't it always mentioned that he's always taking care of everyone, and that he has a hidden kindness inside of him.
I'm not really good with words like Heather or yourself, so sorry if there are any misunderstandings. ( Babble is good, babble on!)
To each their own I've always said. I'm not contradicting anything you said. The Arashi fandom is all about the love and sparkles . see?~ ;D

Date: 2008-09-14 05:11 am (UTC)I also think that personality-wise, it is easier to admire the other members :). I certainly don't hold it against the others that they are so lovable :D - I love them all so much - but there's just that bit of weirdo in me that likes Jun a bit more for being a little prickly, because again, that's also the sort of person that I am :D

Date: 2008-09-14 05:48 am (UTC)I think got into Arashi in a different way than other people did. I did see Gokusen S1, but it wasn't until S2 that I learned about Arashi. Jin and Kame we're the ones who introduced me into JE and the rest of the groups. Then my friend got me into HYD because Oguri Shun was in it, then Matsujun and co. seriously came into my life. The Kitto Daijoubu video sealed the deal. So at first I started off knowing Jun, but not being into him since Gokusen was only my second live action and I was still pretty new to all jdramas and their actors.
It's hard to not love one member, just a tiny bit than the others in my opinion. About 3 months ago, I loved all the guys equally, but then DnA came rolling in and Aiba shot to #1. That's why they are so popular, each guy is so different there's something for everyone and their mother.
Plus I'm that type of bad fan who loves to bully on their favorite idol. Seriously, I'm open minded to everything. I would have supported Jun all the way if that scandal about Ohno had instead been about Jun.
Threesomes for any JE boy, I will support because I turn everyone into a bicycleI also like to imagine them in this type of setting . >D Just too bad I don't a single ounce of author skills anywhere inside of me. Well bad for me, good for the rest of the world I guess. Forgive if I'm too blunt or air headed.

Date: 2008-09-14 02:43 pm (UTC)I had just exited from a kpop fandom that lasted for six years (though I always make it a point to say that I was never a DBSK or Suju fangirl - H.O.T. Forever!), and really didn't want to jump onto another bandwagon. But I had just read about half of Kimi wa Petto, needed an ending, and ended up watching the KwP drama with Jun, although I had to try twice because I was so not into Jun at that point. (Sometime around the fifth episode, I grudgingly admitted that the boy had some ridiculous! lips -_-) I had listened to one Arashi song years back around when w-inds. (whom I do love) first debuted, but thought it was horrid. However, YouTube did me in (as it usually does), and I fell in love with the We can make it! PV, variety shows, and here I am - though I'm a very passive fan who contributes absolutely nothing to the fandom community, or even participates. (Most Arashi fangirls scare me a bit, to be honest.) So not to worry! I have naught author skills as well :D
All of the boys are so wonderful, dorky, and full of passion. Their work ethic is simply amazing. I simply love all of that.

Date: 2008-09-15 02:57 am (UTC)I spoiled myself for the last episode, my player decided to play episode 10 and not one so I saw the ending before anything. DD: I didn't realize until I took off full screen and saw the major mistake. URGH Who wouldn't want to keep Jun as a pet? I go more for the Jun of before than now. I found him cuter, like cute as a puppy.
Johnny should really thank Youtube, if it wasn't for Youtube, a lot of people would have never learned about Arashi or JE.
Agreed.
