Why do we suck at sports?!  FUCK.  Adam van Koerverden, you DOUCHE.  You had the 1000m in the bag!  What the fuck happened?  You better whip it out and show them whose boss in the 500m.  akdjfadkfjadlkfjdfasd I really want to just curl up and cry now.

"Canada's Adam van Koeverden was a bit disappointing in the final, placing eighth. He managed a second place in the first 500 meters, but was overrun after 750 meters. The 26-year-old took six medals in the 2008 ICF World Cup series, including two from K1 1000m race. He will have to do his best in the K1 500m final on August 23 to prove his dominance in this competition."

Alexandre Despatie!  I only wish I could have watched.  Congratulations on keeping your silver medal.  \:D/

Canada has finally stopped sucking and gotten a handful of medals.  I hope to see a few for Kayak in the coming days.

In the middle of writing the most emo of emo to ever emo.  I can't believe I'm torturing my characters so much... but I've only put 400 words to paper since I started at 930.  :/  Shit.

Holy Shit

Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay Heat 1
1.  Italy - 7:07.84
2.  Russia - 7:07.86 (-0.02)
3.  Canada - 7:08.04 (-0.20)
4.  Japan - 7:09.12 (-1.28)

The second heat is running now.  And the US are leading, with the UK and South Africa close behind.  At least we beat Japan by a fairly large margin.  :D  I think there are only 2 heats for this event, which means they'll go straight to finals, which are at 11:19am tomorrow (12:19pm here).  MUST WATCH!

I might as well wait til the second heat is over before posting this... America PWNED the competition.  At least 2-3 seconds faster than the rest.

Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay Heat 2
1.  USA - 7:04.86 OR
2.  Great Britain - 7:07.89 (-3.23)
3.  Australia - 7:08.41 (-3.75)

The start list for the final isn't posted yet but we made it!  But we need to giv'er tomorrow.  I would be happy with a bronze.  We're probably going to be in lane 2 or 7 which is going to make things harder.  It was the 3rd swimmer who got tired.  We were leading for half of the race!  がんばれカナダ!

Now, back to writing.  And then when I get bored of that, I rented 3 discs of CSI: Miami. :D

Edit:  Broke 1,000 words and got the set-up for the chapter done.  Sent it to Starr for check and we'll see what she says.

Relay final start list is up.  Just as I thought -- we're in lane 2.  SHIT.

As great as it is to be able to watch the Olympics LIVE, I am sorely missing Canadian coverage and I can't even watch it online on CBC!  FUcking server blocks the video, "not available in your region".  D<  What the shit!

Gymnastics
The men's gymnastics team failed to qualify.  I'm disappointed.  Although, Shewfelt did break both his legs last year so you can't really blame him, I suppose.  At least he made it to  Beijing.  I don't think I'll be able to see any of the Canadians in competition until the finals, if the girls make it... although I don't think so because they do every event at the same time.  Although I seem to remember seeing other countries on CBC.  Maybe Japanese TV isn't like that.

Aquatics
I saw Kitajima Kousuke win his heat (or did he come 2nd?) and he's made it to the semi's in the men's 100m breast stroke, but Brown didn't cut it for Canada.  In Kitajima's interview he was rather... haha funny?  He just kept saying his performance was まぁまぁ even though he won his heat.  I had never heard of Brown before so he might be a newbie.  Granted, I've been out of the swimming loop for a while since Brad quit.  The women's freestyle relay team rocked and have made it to the final.  I wonder when that's on, and if I'll get to see it?  The only name on the team I recognize is Tanya Hunks but I'm not exactly sure why.  Did she swim with Brad?  I'm trying to look up her profile but the internet is not cooperating.  I need to check the diving schedule to see when Alex Despatie is on.  I don't know if Japan has any divers so I might not even be able to see that.  D:  If he makes it through they should have clips on CBC, but even that isn't working right now.

Edit:  Gave up on CBC because that site is so stupid to navigate and went to the official Beijing Olympics site.  Alexandre Despatie made it to the men's 3m synchro springboard finals!  I thought he was doing 10m platform but he's only doing springboard this time.  He took silver last time in the 3m springboard event but I won't get to see it because Japan sucks at diving so they won't broadcast it.  I'll just have to check the results on Wednesday and see how he did. :3

Kayak
I'll need to watch for kayaking news.  Van Koerverden, make me proud!  I want a repeat performance of Athens.  Although, I don't think those events start until next week?

What the shit is with all these technical issues?  I don't live in China!  Or maybe THAT'S the reason it's not working -- the video feed is from China?  I don't know.  I don't really care, I just want it to work.  CRY.

Why am I posting again?  I really need to find somethign else to do with my time.  I'm christening my TV by watching News Zero and Shukudai tonight. :D  Sho's hair is starting to get out of control... It's getting mulletesque.  But it looks like there is some red highlight action going on.  Hot!  He's interviewing 3 Olympic athletes.  I saw their star swimmer on a different program today: HOT.  He's interviewing swimmers: two girls and a guy.  A sport I actually understand!  I'm happy to see Olympic coverage getting into full swing (with or without Sho, sry).  The Japanese track suits look super cute~  Sakura of course.  I wonder what the Canadians have put together.

Man, this guy Matsuda something is only 23... and the girls at 25.  One of the girls won gold in the 800 Free last Olympics.  Wow... Even Sho looks a bit star struck, if that's possible.

XD Aiba has a new AU CM for mother's day.  It's so cute~~  I finally got the "shovel" thing.  Talk = しゃべる (shaberu) = しゃべる (shaberu) = Shovel  OH those Japaneses, they're so clever.

Okay, I'm going to post this and stop writing.  It's got to be annoying for someone.  XD
